Independence Notice

Independence

Sanctus is an independent devotional tool created by a lay Catholic developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church, the Holy See, any diocese, religious order, priestly society, or any other ecclesiastical authority.

No priest, bishop, or official Church body has reviewed or approved the content of this application. All decisions regarding the content, features, and design of Sanctus rest solely with StaticLine Logistics Group LLC.

IV

Liturgical Accuracy

Liturgical Accuracy

Every effort has been made to present the propers, calendar, and devotional texts accurately according to the 1962 Roman Missal. However, this app is not a substitute for a certified hand missal, a printed ordo, or the guidance of a priest.

Errors may exist. For all matters pertaining to the liturgical celebration of Holy Mass, the administration of sacraments, or questions of rubrical practice, always defer to your pastor, chaplain, or confessor.

Sanctus is intended as a personal devotional aid, not an authoritative liturgical reference.

V

Fasting Guidance

1962 Discipline

The 1962 fasting discipline reflects the stricter pre-conciliar rules, including Ember Days, Vigil fasts, and the full Lenten fast. This information is provided for general reference and historical understanding.

1983 Discipline

The 1983 discipline reflects the current Code of Canon Law (canons 1249–1253), which requires fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, and abstinence from meat on Fridays of Lent.

Important — Please Read Before Fasting

The fasting information in Sanctus is for general reference only. It does not constitute medical advice, nutritional guidance, spiritual direction, canonical advice, or a binding determination of your personal obligations. StaticLine Logistics Group LLC makes no representations that any fasting schedule shown in this app is appropriate, safe, or suitable for any individual user.

Before making any change to your diet or eating patterns — including beginning, modifying, or intensifying a fast — consult a licensed physician or qualified healthcare provider. This applies to all users, regardless of age or apparent health. What is spiritually appropriate may not be medically appropriate for your individual circumstances, and this app has no way of knowing your health status.

You should be especially cautious, and must consult a physician first, if any of the following apply to you:

  • Diabetes or any condition affecting blood sugar regulation
  • Pregnancy, nursing, or the possibility of pregnancy
  • Any prescription or over-the-counter medication that must be taken with food
  • A history of disordered eating, including anorexia or bulimia
  • Heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or any chronic illness
  • Low body weight, malnutrition, or a history of nutritional deficiency
  • Any other condition for which your physician has advised regular food or fluid intake

Individual fasting obligations are also affected by age, state in life, and the customs of your community. Please consult your confessor or spiritual director for guidance on your personal obligations. This app cannot make that determination for you.

StaticLine Logistics Group LLC expressly disclaims all liability for any adverse health outcome, injury, illness, or death arising from the use of or reliance on the fasting information provided in this application. Use of the fasting feature constitutes your acknowledgment that you have read this notice and accept sole responsibility for your dietary decisions.

VI

Alarm Reliability

iOS Notification Limitations — Please Read

Sacred alarms in Sanctus rely on Apple's iOS notification system. Notifications may be delayed or suppressed by Focus modes (including Do Not Disturb and Sleep mode), Low Power Mode, battery optimization, system interruptions, or other device conditions entirely outside the app's control.

Sanctus cannot guarantee the delivery of any alarm or notification at the scheduled time. This is a fundamental limitation of the iOS platform, not a bug.

Do not rely solely on Sanctus as your only alarm for any time-sensitive obligation, including but not limited to:

  • Waking for work, employment, or professional obligations
  • Medical appointments or time-sensitive medication
  • Travel, flights, or scheduled transportation
  • Any obligation where failure to appear on time has serious consequences

Always use your device's native Clock app or a dedicated alarm clock as a backup. Sanctus is a devotional aid, not a mission-critical alarm system.

StaticLine Logistics Group LLC expressly disclaims all liability for any consequence — including missed work, missed appointments, or any other loss — arising from a failure of alarm delivery.

VII

Data Source

Missale Meum

All liturgical propers (Introit, Collect, Epistle, Gospel) are sourced from Missale Meum (missalemeum.com), an independent lay apostolate dedicated to making the propers of the Traditional Latin Mass accessible online.

Sanctus is grateful for the work of Missale Meum and acknowledges their contribution to the preservation and accessibility of the ancient Roman Rite. Propers are cached offline within the app and do not require an internet connection at runtime.

Sanctus is not affiliated with or endorsed by Missale Meum.

VIII
